Joy and Gratitude!

Wilson, Wilson, Wilson... did you ever create your Vision Board? I've made one now in publisher and have it as my desktop to see it every day. I suppose I need to put it out into the universe so here it is!

What have we got here: joy and gratitude first, killer fit body, lots of money, a lakehouse (with notice kids playing out front and towels drying on porch) and lots and lots of travel.

For a 10 min exercise it's pretty neat to see in one spot my heartfelt wishes. Ask, believe, receive.

Dear Wilson,

Here I am again! I told you I'd start writing again...

I just got off the phone with a gentleman that is looking for some certification resources. Right up my alley. Sounds like it would be a very lonnnng 3 weeks of work, but hey, I could do it! We had fun chatting up the world of cert ... interesting that it actually hasn't moved along that quickly since I jumped out of the business. He seemed like someone I'd enjoy working with - very soft spoken, diligent, kind. Am also talking with the big boss of the other company later this week. If they only have part-time for me, that would be fine and I could offset that with the certifcation work and the rest eI moving BIG time into the HE space. YES! My goal is net 5000 per month this year .... and away we go!

Dear Wilson,

I'm catching up on the blogs I like to read - and am shamed by not having written every day since my last post. No excuses. Here's my thought for today:

J and cousin M taught themselves how to skimboard this week. In Maui they had endless time, each had a skimboard, and onsite guides if needed (dads and uncles). To watch this unfold is such a lesson in how we've structured childhood. Unfortunately, there aren't more days of just trying something, having fun with it, and doing it again and again to perfect it. The ocean is a master teacher, really, always there, always challenging, to be revered and respected, but always available for one more try whether its a swim or another shot at skimming the tide.

I strive for this with my children. To let them learn at their own pace, in their own way, in due time. To not structure so much that it snaps the joy out of just learning something ...

Well, J has decided on self-taught (book, cd, podcast?) guitar as his spring activity. I'm going to join in. Who knows, maybe I'll like it and even try it again and again!
